Hello... You are looking a pair of TURBOSOUND TMS-2A full-range sound reinforcement speakers. The TMS-2A is a fairly rare find, especially in this kind of condition. They are the real McCoy... They have been gently used and have never been sold. We, M.E.S. Music Equipment Sales Ltd. , as an authorized Turbosound Dealer, purchased them in August of 1986. They were used by us in a demo capacity, having on them, perhaps 10-12 hours total time. Both units were recently checked to insure that all components were in operational order. They are... All components are original Turbosound issue. The scuffs and marks you see on the cabinets are as a result of our handling the cabs involving the demo assignments... The TurboBlue Trimite matt paint used by Turbosound is very robust and 'in the flesh', still looks very impressive... Over all, I would rate them conservatively, a 7.5 out of 10. The original foam speaker grills suffered from terminal UV degradation and lasted only a few years...
The TURBOSOUND TMS-2A is a bi-amped 3-way line array speaker enclosure featuring Turbosound's unique principles in speaker design. There is a passive 4000Hz crossover between the 10" Mid and the HFD. Two of the most innovate features are the TurboBass™ and TurboMid™ devices. The goal of these devises: increased efficiency, range and clarity. These make use of Bernoulli's Principle (the same principle that explains lift to an airplane wing) to increase the velocity of the air moving off of the speaker cone. Increased velocity equals increased sound pressure that equates to increased volume and increased frequency range. The TurboMid™ device is clearly visible in the images in front of the midrange 10" speaker. This results in a midrange frequency response 250Hz to 4000Hz, almost the complete vocal range; the most important range for intelligibility and clarity, ...a Sound Designer's and Sound Engineer's dream!!!
The TMS-2A is ideally suited to small theaters, halls, clubs, houses of worship and small bands and was always my favorite...
