You are looking at
another one of our wonderful vintage items: The Tom
Scholz Rockman ROCKMODULE DEMO CENTER. Purchased by us,
M.E.S. Music Equipment Sales Ltd. as an authorized Rockman Dealer, in
January 1989, this unit was never sold and had only modest attention
as a demo station. Famous for their rich analogue sounds, this classic
DEMO CENTER is equipped with the five
most popular Tom Scholz Rockman modules: the SUSTAINOR,
DISTORTION GENERATOR, INSTRUMENT EQUALIZER,
STEREO CHORUS and STEREO ECHO.
A switch matrix at the top right accesses almost any combination of
ROCKMODULES and
their functions. The modules are heard in stereo through a pair
of Teledyne Acoustic Research Powered Partner 35 watt powered loudspeakers.
I would rate our DEMO CENTER 7.5
out of 10, cosmetically. The unit has acquired a few scratches over
the years. Our service shop gave the unit a thorough checkout. The
only flaw that we discovered was a broken slider tip in the DISTORTION
GENERATOR that controls the 2KHz band in the Pre Dist EQ section...
The slider still functions 100%, but you need to use your fingernail
to adjust the level... Other than that, from a functional operation
view, I would rate our ROCKMODULE DEMO CENTER 10 out
of 10 . EVERYTHING works as intended and sounds
great.
All of these Rockman Modules were
designed and developed by the famous Tom Scholz of the rock
band Boston. His Waltham, Massachusetts based
company was called Scholz Research & Development.
These Modules have
been a favorite amongst guitarists for years because of their very desirable
ANALOGUE circuitry and because of the fact they were all expressly designed
FOR guitarist players. They are easy to use and are an essential tool
in the guitarists' quest for the 'Holy Grail of Tone...'
And by the way, in anticipation of
a question: "At this
time,
we will not be selling any modules separately..."
