1966 Ampeg Rocket 2 Model GS-12 amplifer Serial Number 045240 in very good condition. There are a few dings and scuffs here and there. The overall appearance of the dark blue diamond vinyl is still very nice. The original brown grill cloth is nice and tight with no rips or tears. The chrome is very nice while the chrome platied chassis is exceptional as the images show... I would rate this amp ~ 7 out of 10. This is the real deal 'Made ln the USA' from back in the day, NOT a modern re-issue.
For the most part, it is all original: pots, caps and components share similar EIA ID's. The speaker is the original Jensen Concert Series C12R C7746-3, EIA #220633. It was recently re-coned and has zero hours on it... All of butterfly, or bow tie nickel plated screws (save one) are original.
As you can see, most of the Ampeg logo is missing.
Operation:
Everything works as designed: All input sockets; the potentiometers function smoothly with no 'scratchiness'; the Tremolo sounds great. It is switched On/Off with the original included footswitch. This is a great sounding vintage Ampeg Rocket 2 amplifier...
