Status: NEW OLD STOCK
In the early 1980's Fender® USA,
then owned by CBS Inc, offered a full selection of beautifully machined
brass replacement parts for their guitars and basses. Besides wonderful
craftsmanship, these parts had a high quality epoxy finish known as M52,
similar to the finish used on expensive brass instruments. This finish
was designed to be strong enough to resist scratching and body acids
that can turn brass green. Fender offered this hardware in two
series: the Brassmaster and the Standard.
Here is a Bass String Retainer
or String Tree from
the Standard Series for either a Fender Precision
Bass® or a Fender Jazz Bass®. This
is an original new New Old Stock part from September
1980. The part number 99-9826. The dimensions
are 3/4" x 7/16" x 1/4"

The black anodized installation screw is included
but the coin is not. We have included it to help you judge the String
Tree size. This is a rare vintage accessory to really help dress up
your Fender® Bass, especially if it is
equipped with gold or brass hardware. The images you are looking
at are of the actual Fender® Brass Works Bass
String Retainer.
